take care of yourself:
this piece is a site specific installation inviting the audience to eat a seed, plant a seed, and then address the "holy" water (pomegranate juice). using references of the holy communion, I wanted to create a meditative space that emphasized the internalized, more mundane spirituality within us, rather than the intense worship of an external figure. the prayer flags use imagery of anatomy, and the pomegranate seeds use botany and medicinal metaphors to reference the way we sustain and nourish our bodies, the same way we can sustain our own spirituality internally. the window does reference an outside deity, as we can not survive in our own bubble without nourishment from the environment.
